An event-driven secure file transfer engine written in the Go programming language. Traditional secure file transfer systems function purely as minimal operating system daemons, SFTPGo operates as an application layer platform designed to handle complex multi-protocol transfers, user management, and cloud storage integrations out of the box. It exposes local disk systems as well as cloud object stores through standard file transfer protocols.

It supports traditional Secure File Transfer Protocol over SSH, File Transfer Protocol over TLS, Web File Transfer Protocol over HTTP and HTTPS, and Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning. It acts as a smart gateway that abstracts where files are physically stored. Administrators can map a user's remote virtual directory to local storage, encrypted storage, Amazon Simple Storage Service, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob Storage without changing the interface for the end user.
