Mautic 7.0
This version effectively strips away years of legacy technical debt to make the platform faster, more secure, and ready for future growth.
The big change in Mautic 7.0 is the migration to a modern tech stack. The platform now officially supports PHP 8.4 and has been upgraded to Symfony 7.3. These aren't just version numbers; they represent a performance boost in how Mautic processes background tasks, handles routing, and manages memory. Dropping support for PHP 8.1 and older database versions (the new minimum is MySQL 8.4.0 or MariaDB 10.11.0), Mautic has significantly reduced the complexity of its core codebase got rid of alot of bloat.
The New Campaign Library
This allows users to export and import entire campaigns along with all their associated resources like emails, forms, and landing pages from one Mautic instance to another. This is a good thing for agencies and multi-brand organizations that previously had to recreate complex workflows manually or rely on buggy third-party workarounds.
Resource Management via Projects
It introduces the Projects feature, a resource management tool designed to keep marketing assets organized. Instead of searching through lists of emails and segments, you can now group all related resources under a specific project. This version extends project support to include stages, dynamic web content, and points, making it much easier to keep track of assets tied to a specific product launch or seasonal promotion.
UI and UX Improvements
The interface has seen several functional upgrades aimed at power users. A new multi-step form theme (inspired by Typeform) has been added to improve conversion rates. Users can now perform bulk actions more easily, such as shift-clicking multiple rows to select them. Additionally, there are new quality-of-life features like the ability to copy MJML code directly between emails, copy asset download URLs from the list view, and view an audit log tab within campaigns to see exactly who changed what and when.
Removal of Legacy Browser Updates
It has removed the ability to update the software via the browser interface. This has been a frequent point of failure in the past, leading to corrupted installations. Going forward, all updates must be performed via the command line (CLI). This ensures that the upgrade process is more stable and allows for better error handling during major transitions.
Developer and API Improvements
For those building on top of Mautic, this release implements the API Platform (v2), providing a more standardized and modern endpoint structure. The platform also introduces the ability to define multiple mailer DSNs and better Redis cache implementation. Removing hundreds of deprecated classes and traits, the development community now has a cleaner, more predictable environment for creating plugins and integrations.
With that Yes we upgraded from 6 to 7 it was flawless without issue. We are super husge fans of Mautic cannot recommended it enough https://github.com/mautic/mautic
